Photocaching is a new game that uses your smartphone's or tablet's hi-tech features to make you discover new areas and to challenge you.

It is a rallye, where you must find an object and take a picture of it. If you know about geocaching, it is quite similar, but without the physical constraint of the material caches.

Mobility + Photography + GPS + You = Photocaching = Fun

So how does it work?

First, login or register. It is free and fast.
Second, download the photocaching app for your device.
Third, start the Photocaching app and start looking for a photocache.

Now, what?

The app will help you find the nearest photocache from your location.
The first step is to drive, bike, hike, walk or swim to that location, using the map and the compass provided by the app. Remember: getting there is half the fun! This is what you could see, for example, at the following coordinates [45.553292, -73.540211]:

You found the place? Now the app will display a shape, like this one:

This is where you'll need to think outside the device. Looking around, you find that shape around you and align the shape with the object and take a picture:

Congratulations! You just found a cache!

Photocaching is still quite new, but new caches are created every day! Make sure you check your Photocaching app or the Photocaching.net website for new caches in your area. You can also plan a photocaching raid and go discover a new place you've never explored before. The entire world is your playground!
Photocaching is a great family or social game. Bring your kids and friends, get out, have fun, discover the world!

Can I create a cache, too?

The caches are created by the Community, and you being part of that community, you can create caches yourself, too. Just use the Photocaching app and follow the on-screen instructions: take a picture, draw the shape, fill-out the details and share the cache!
Not only it is actually fun to create a cache, we will even reward you for your contribution to the photocaching community!
Oh!, and by the way, if you are travelling, this is a great way to get a souvenir from which you will hear from often. That's right! You'll be alerted when somebody finds your cache.
